Soon Amore - Press Release, 8th June 2018

Summer Concert - Sunday 8th July 2018 1700 hours

York Cemetery Chapel YO10 5AJ

Soon Amore presents 'Seeds of Change', a unique programme of music and poetry reflecting our aspirations for equality and our shared humanity.

The concert will include a performance of 'The Pankhurst Anthem', commissioned by the BBC this year, composed by Lucy Pankhurst, with words selected by Helen Pankhurst from the writings of her famous suffragete great-grandmother, Emmeline.

There will also be protest songs from the 60s; 'Tsunagari', a Japanese piece commemorating the victims of the 2004 Tsunami; and a new setting of the now-famous words from MP Jo Cox, 'We are far more united, and have far more in common, than that which divides us'.
